[Resolved] Game freeze bug

Lately I have noticed that we had several games on the bot that were not finished properly. People would just disconnect (its not desync) one after another or all at once.
This is not internet problem on bot side because other games are still running without any issues.
Some players told me that their game would just freeze. Strudelteig gave me an idea that this might be a problem with cave entrance portals because both of following replays freeze exactly when someone was doing stuff inside the cave.
Even running the replay freezes my game at the very end.

Hi folks.

I confirm that. If you build exactly on the the cave portals the game will crash. Especially at the entrance to the West (inside) and South (outside).
These are just 2 'hot'-spots I found out. If you build at eastern entrance (inside), the fence just moves a little bit to the left but game will not crash. At western entrance (outside) the fence just moves inside the cave but game will not crash.
So don't try this at home nor during multyplayer - use singleplayer

Interesting. My guess would be that an infinite loop is being created somehow. We'll dig into it and see if we can add a condition that prevents this from happening.

Iirc, in the past, building on the teleport zones would just move the fence to the new spot, was anything about that changed?

Oh dear, this is troubling, but an easy enough problem to fix. In previous versions it was possible to build at portal entrances, but this was deemed to be a bit annoying and was changed in 1.27. My guess is that since the portal is well, a portal, and both sides of where it wants to teleport are not building terrain, that an infinite loop is indeed entered, as mentioned by Jesse, causing some sort of frenzy... Another oversight by me, and perhaps a reminder for the importance of beta testing!
