Hacking

Postby maddeem » Tue Apr 14, 2015 1:34 am

To hack or not to hack, why and why not?

Thoughts?

Personally I use hacks on a regular basic to gain an edge over my opponent. Why? I lack a moral superiority complex.

I only use hacks/cheats in single player games. Particularly for games like Icewind Dale and Arcanum where I made a new character every day and didn't want to spend a week leveling him/her up.

To a small degree it dulls the experience, so I often try to avoid it.I don't think I could ever enjoy hacking in a multiplayer game. I already dominate many people in many games and I'd constantly be in a state of self-doubt on what was actually making me win. Without hacks I can safely say that I am superior, but if I used hacks I would always wonder if it was the hacks that just won the game, or my skill.

One time in Minecraft I used a world downloader. It allowed me to explore other people's bases offline.

But I mainly used it for planning my own structures and seeing how they would fit into the area I was building on the server.

I'm all about hacking if you're the one creating the "hack" and it furthers your knowledge of computer programming, then it's fair game. In the past few years I started writing bots for simple games like RuneScape (mostly private servers) just to help me program using a goal that was very tangible and rather thought provoking. It's quite fun to work around systems that people have set to keep you from cheating, which engages your mind, and is therefor rather rewarding.

On the other hand, if you're just downloading somebody else's work to further your "e-peen" online, then you're actually just wasting time. With single player games, I'm supportive as well. Using mods for Oblivion after playing the game for so long was loads of fun, and so is traversing maps with no-clip to check out whatever secrets a developer left to find.

Lol I made a script to change names (ctrl+v) and color (input in box) while speaking to obs and say I'm ww :D while speaking to all, then return to a color and Name
I use it everytime I see people snitching out who's werewolf
A simple batch file xD

Code: Select all

@echo off
echo Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.AppActivate("Warcraft III") >> test.vbs
echo Dim Color >> test.vbs
echo Color = InputBox("Color") >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "-name ^v" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WScript.Sleep 750 >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "-" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys Color >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WScript.Sleep 750 >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "+{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "I'm ww :D" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WScript.Sleep 750 >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "-name Vlad" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WScript.Sleep 750 >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "-black" >> test.vbs
echo WshShell.SendKeys "{Enter}" >> test.vbs
wscript test.vbs
del test.vbs
