10. 3 men dine at a restaurant. They decide to split the $30 bill, so they each pay the cashier $10. Just as the men leave, the cashier realizes that he had overcharged the men $5, and sends a waiter to return the $5. However, the waiter decides that it would be easier to split $3 dollars and pockets the extra $2. Since each man only paid a total of $9, $27 for all three, and the waiter secretly took $2, the total is only $29 dollars. What happened to the last $1?

If they paid 10x3=30 30-5=25 25+(5-2)=28 (The 2 goes in the pocket of the waiter) - All dollars are accounted for.

This is all about perspective, You need to realize that in addition to the cost of the bill the men each paid 1/3 of the 2 dollars taken by the waiter.. The intended price was 25 split 3 ways. That is 8.333...
The waiter kept 2 dollars, so each man paid 1/3 of that as well. Which is 0.666...
8.333... + 0.666... = 9x3 = 27 (The waiters "tip" and their meal expenses)
The other 3 dollars are returned to them, Bringing the grand total up to 30.

Nice one, this took way more thought than I originally anticipated.

Jesse is correct. Also, 2. has been written more comprehensibly.

9. What can one not buy with money? (As in a physical object/service, I don't want to get into all the crap about how one can/not buy love or happiness)

I don't know if this is the answer you were looking for, but my answer is Antarctica. Antarctica is politically neutral and therefor cannot be privately regulated to allow for purchasing of land. If you wanted to buy land to build a house in Antarctica, you'd find yourself trying to complete an impossible task.

If you had 20 trillion dollars, I'm certain you could convince a few people to let you build in Antarctica...

I'm pretty sure you couldn't, you would piss off too many countries.

Someone being pissed off doesn't stop you from doing something. If that was true we would likely never be able to do anything.

Well it's a huge thing, you need a reason to build in Antarctica, not money. If you'd simply start building there some countries may consider that as claiming the territory.

What I'm saying is that if you had enough money, you could just buy all the politicians so they would make it legal to build in Antarctica.

Number 9: You cannot buy money with money.

Edit:
Number 2: Assuming the prisoner can see each other, but cannot communicate, they would notice that all the other inmates were painted white.

Number 9 is correct. However, each person can see that the other people's heads are white, but don't know that theirs is as well.

Number 2: Each prisoner was to wait a number of day equal to the number of white foreheads +1. Once that day was reached, they would assert they had white foreheads.

No because the guy may see 99 foreheads that are white, and wait until day 100 and assert, but he still does not know that his head is white. If it is black, he will die. They will only assert if they are 100% certain.

That is not correct either
